ABOUT FLUP
Flup – Festa Literária das Periferias is an international literary festival whose main characteristic is to take place in territories traditionally excluded from literary programs, in the city of Rio de Janeiro.
We pass by Morro dos Prazeres, Vigário Geral, Mangueira, Babilônia, Mangueira and Vidigal, until we reach the city center, embracing the region that the sambista Heitor dos Prazeres named “Little Africa”. We held the 2018 edition at the State Park Library and the 2019 edition at the Rio de Janeiro Museum of Art. In 2020, due to covid-19, FLUP was held on digital platforms, transcending territories and impacting the whole of Brazil and 7 other countries.

Flup 2024
The quilombo of Beatriz Nascimento is a gap in the history of Brazil.
Black people go from being enslaved to being masters of themselves and their own paths. In the feet of the quilombola liberators, the roots of Africa are planted in Brazilian soil.
To contradict the white-handed historiography, Quilombo dos Palmares, the first free state in Latin America.
On this ground, dance with freedom, listen to how your heart beats strongly.
